Having a childhood that was divided between a Lego obsession and a love for outdoor activities set the foundation for Ian's interest in physical performance and rehabilitation.
He believes that “Like Lego, the human body is a structure that can strain, break, and crumble; leading to injuries. In such instances, we can either implement no change, test bandaid solutions, or choose to purposefully rehabilitate (rebuild) ourselves. Injuries create an opportunity for us to learn from our mistakes, and it drives us to be better.”
Having worked with many clients, Ian understands that rehabilitation is tough to do alone. A firm believe that fundamentals are K-E-Y, Ian aims to empower you with knowledge, motivate you to be self-driven with your exercises, and turn your rehab journey into an adventure.
Prior to SCA, Ian worked as a team physiotherapist for professional and amateur ice hockey teams in Australia. He's also worked extensively with amateur athletes across a dozen different sports, where he's had to collaborate closely with coaches.
Outside of work, he is known as a purveyor of good tunes, nice shoes, and a hoppy brew. Should you ever wish to bribe Ian for an easy session, food and coffee are the keys to his heart. He may tell you he's a coffee snob, but he'll really drink any bean juice that you present him with.
