Physiotherapy
We specialise in various areas including acute injury management, post-surgery rehabilitation, overuse or chronic injury management, ensuring you're prepared to return to sport and preventing future injuries. Injuries and pain are inevitable aspects of life, and we're here to help manage them effectively.
Manual Therapy Techniques
Manual therapy techniques range from passive stretching to joint mobilisations and soft tissue release. While each technique possesses its distinct characteristics, they collectively share the goal of promoting tissue repair and psychological recovery.
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that aims to enhance function by addressing pain and muscle tension through biochemical changes within and around the muscle tissue. By triggering an inflammatory response, it prompts the influx of fresh nutrients and cells to the area through blood vessels, facilitating healing and reducing tension. Additionally, the process elicits pain reduction through neurological and hormonal responses, contributing to overall therapeutic benefit.
Sports Massage Therapy
Sports Massage Therapy targets the reduction of muscle tension and soreness by desensitising the nervous system, improving blood circulation and joint mobility. Additionally, this therapy modality fosters psychological well-being and stress reduction, offering a multifaceted approach to promoting overall recovery and performance enhancement.
Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation
NMES can help to accelerate functional recovery and provide short-term pain relief through electrical impulses. It can also help to prevent atrophy from disuse post-surgery and improve prove motor control in patients with strength deficits.
Movement Pattern Education
When experiencing pain or injury, our bodies are incredibly good at adapting to allow us to continue functioning. This often leads to movement dysfunction or imbalances of surrounding muscles, which can prolong a current injury or cause a new injury. A comprehensive assessment allows our physiotherapists to identify these issues and offer clients movement education to promote more efficient movement patterns. This proactive approach helps optimise function and reduce the risk of further injury or discomfort.
Sports Taping Techniques
In Sports taping, rigid tape is used primarily to enhance joint support to allow individuals to returning to activity even when certain movements may still cause discomfort. Kinesiology tape serves as a form of biofeedback to enhance movement and sensory awareness. Taping has also been shown to assist in reducing swelling and bruising in acute injuries.
Pre and Post-Operative Rehabilitation
Physiotherapists play a crucial role in pre and post-operative rehabilitation, guiding patients through tailored treatment plans to optimize recovery and regain functionality. Whether preparing for surgery or recuperating afterward, our physiotherapists employ targeted exercises, manual therapy techniques, and education to promote healing, restore mobility, and enhance overall well-being.
Exercise Rehabilitation
With physiotherapy, the goal is always to get back to being pain-free. We do this through a combination of load management, programming optimisation, home exercises, and total body conditioning.
Strength & Conditioning
Maximize your training potential with a personalised and goal-oriented plan. Our team utilises evidence-based sports training principles to tailor a program to enhance your physical performance. By integrating scientific knowledge and specialised training techniques, we ensure that every aspect of your regimen is optimized to help you achieve your athletic objectives.
Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates offers a specialised approach to addressing musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Tailored to individual needs and guided by our physiotherapists, Clinical Pilates focuses on improving core strength, stability, flexibility, and overall movement patterns. By incorporating specific exercises and techniques, this therapeutic approach aids in injury recovery, enhances functional movement, and promotes long-term physical well-being.
Education
To achieve the best outcomes for your treatment, it is important that you understand the underlying rationale for each intervention. We aim to prioritise providing clients with the tools for self-management of your pain and/or injury.
Blood Flow Restriction Training
Using Saga Wireless devices (inflatable cuffs placed on either the upper legs or arms) that reduce blood flow to limbs, clients will be able to continue training at lighter loads while still gaining the benefits of conventional muscle building. This is a great tool to use post-surgery or injury as it enables clients to achieve great results with minimal, pain-free resistance.
VALD Performance Technology
By integrating the VALD system into our physiotherapy services, Strength Clinic Academy offers a data-driven approach to optimize recovery, improve performance, and promote long-term wellness.
VALD system benefits our clients by giving more accurate assessments. Enhanced tracking of progress leads to enhanced injury prevention and the creation of customized rehabilitation programs increase overall objective outcome measurements.
