In-Person Assessment and Follow Ups
An initial detailed assessment will be performed to calculate your body composition, assess your goals, and understand any underlying health conditions/concerns. Using this data, we will come up with a structured and detailed plan for you to follow. Follow up appointments, where retesting or adjustments may take place, will be set regularly to keep you motivated and on track. Bioimpedance scan or skin caliper is chosen depending on what the coach feels is appropriate. Caliper will provide more precision. Girth measurements also another tool for tracking progress.
Body Composition Analysis
Just basing your health on the weight on the scale does not provide enough information. To gather more data, we use either bioimpedance analysis or skinfold calliper readings.
Bioimpedance analysis sends a weak electrical current through your body. From this it estimates your body fat percentage, skeletal muscle mass, fat mass, fitness age, resting metabolic rate and more. Although not 100% accurate, so long as the timing of this is constant, it gives us a lot more objective data to track progress.
Skinfold measurements estimate the same results (using anywhere from 3 to 9 sites on your body), but this produces more accurate results.
Recording of Data
Using apps such as Truecoach and MyFitnessPal, data such as macros, body metric information, and goals will be stored alongside any progress photos.
